piccolino spreading system The “piccolino” spreading system is well suited for miniaturized subperiosteal paravertebral as well as transmuscular approaches. When compared with conventional techniques, the reduced dimensions of the retractor do not limit access to the surgical fi eld since the blades fl are out distally.
The “piccolino”-spreading system was developed in cooperation with Mr. Prof. Dr. med. Luca Papavero, Neurochirurg, Centrum for Spinale Surgery Klinikum Eilbek, Hamburg.
The "piccolino" spreading system is suitable for the following indications:
- Inter-laminar Approach
- Trans-laminar Approach
- Extra-foraminal Approach
- Dorsolateral Foraminotomy
Advantages:
- Low-profi le collar avoid lesions of the skin
- Reduced blade thickness increases the volume
- Since the blades fl are out with increasing depth there is suffi cient access to the surgical fi eld despite the miniaturized approach
- The lateral and medial blades are radiolucent
